Dodo Express (accessible at https://expressdodo.com) is an independent, non-commercial fan community website created by fans of Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons. We provide flight schedules, interactive island maps, and Dodo Codes for in-game multiplayer visits.

2. Information We Collect

We believe in minimal data collection. We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver our website services:

  • Discord Authentication Data (OAuth2): When you log in using Discord, Discord securely prompts you to authorize Dodo Express to view your basic profile. We only receive your public Discord User ID, Username, and Avatar hash. We never have access to your Discord password, your email address, your direct messages, or your private payment details.
  • Community Role Information: We check whether your Discord account possesses the VIP role in our community Discord server to grant access to dedicated islands.
  • Technical Logs: Our web server (Nginx) temporarily logs standard, anonymized HTTP connection metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) strictly for firewall protection, security monitoring, and rate limiting (preventing DDoS attacks).

3. What We Never Collect or Distribute

  • We NEVER ask for, see, or store your passwords or Discord credentials.
  • We NEVER distribute, require, or prompt users to download any executable software, `.exe`, browser extensions, or malicious files.
  • We NEVER sell, rent, or trade user data to advertisers or third-party data brokers.
  • We NEVER collect financial or credit card information.

4. Third-Party Services & Payments

To support server hosting costs, our community offers optional VIP benefits through third-party platforms:

  • Discord (Discord Inc.): User login is handled entirely through Discord's official OAuth2 servers. Please refer to Discord's Privacy Policy.
  • Ko-fi (Ko-fi Labs Ltd.) / Stripe / PayPal: Voluntary community memberships are processed on Ko-fi's secure platform. All payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. Dodo Express never receives or handles your banking or card details.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Dodo Express uses minimal, strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage:

  • Session Cookie (`dodo_session`): An encrypted authentication token that keeps you signed in across pages. It is destroyed when you click "Log Out".
  • Local Storage (`dodo_theme`): Stores your visual preference (Day Mode vs. Night Mode) in your browser.

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention & Your Rights

You have full control over your information:

  • Revoking Access: You can disconnect Dodo Express from your Discord account at any time via Discord Settings > Authorized Apps > Dodo Express > Deauthorize.
  • Data Deletion: If you wish to permanently delete your stored user record from our database, you can contact us directly via our Discord Community Server or send a request to our administrative team.
